PTO Ways and Means
What is PTO Ways and Means? It is the part of PTO responsible for raising funds and providing the ways and means through which PTO Programs, events and initiatives (both large – DW Athletic Field - and small – Links to Learning Grants) are funded each year. We cannot do it without the help of so many wonderful and talented volunteers as well as such overwhelming financial support from our parents and community.
THANK YOU ! THANK YOU ! THANK YOU !
PTO has raised close to $131,000 last school year through your generous support of our programs and events as well as that of local businesses and organizations. Included are a couple charts to help illustrate the breakdown of how these funds were raised and funds raised from outside organizations.
This event in December allowed PTO to raise almost $10,000 while also pulling the community together to celebrate the spirit of the season through performances by numerous classes and student groups. It also was a great chance to give back by donating both new and used books to local organizations in need such as Bernie’s Book Bank. Thanks for helping make this event such a success all around! Next event will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2013.
New in 2013! PTO Hosted this event in February with over 60 camps in attendance. Admission to parents was free with over 200 families attending and learning about camping opportunities in the area and around the nation. Mark your calendars for next year’s fair on Sunday, February 9th, 2014.
PTO Membership and Directory
Thanks to over 700 families that supported PTO last year and to the 30 businesses and organizations that advertised in our directory.
$103 for 103
We had a 60% increase in the number of families that were $103 donors last school year. Thanks for supporting PTO!
School Supplies – PTO partnered with EPI to pre-sell school supply packs in the Spring (for the next school year) and to help make the back to school preparation a bit easier each fall.
Spirit Wear - What to wear on those school Spirit Days? PTO sells a variety of Sprague, Half Day and DW clothing. Orders are taken in the Spring and delivered to students desks each Fall.
DW Pizza Lunch – On Fridays at DW, PTO and OMMPa have partnered to pre-sell Pizza at lunch. Proceeds are shared between these two volunteer organizations.
Premier PTO Partners
This year we had 8 local businesses sign up as Annual Sponsors supporting all the PTO programs. Scroll down to see the listing.
Run for the Fields/5k
Our third annual run took place on May 18th. The previous year we had 700 people register to race while also supporting PTO’s DW Field Renovation program and future Outdoor District 103 Improvements. This event has raised over $25,000 in the past and we broke the record this year!
While we received the majority of our PTO funding from parent donations and support, this year over $48,000 of our funding came from local business, corporations and organizations.
Please consider supporting these sponsoring organizations that have done so much to support PTO and our District 103 schools this year.
